Smoking in public places

Hi partners,

My objective in the blog is to show my own opinion about social issues in our society and to get feedback about it.

Smoking in public places is one of the most important points discussed in all the places. Tobacco is introduced in our society since many years ago and actually, the governments are trying to reduce the smoke consumption.
I don’t smoke know but I smoked around ten cigarettes daily and I had some problems with health and I decided to give up it. I’m better today than few years ago, I can do sport a lot and I feel more healthy.
Since last January, the government has forbidden to smoke inside the public places like administration places, schools, hospitals, companies, etc. In fact, this change in our society has introduced a lot of profits in the companies. In these months, the health of the people has improved, the cost of the company has reduced and the productivity has increased considerably.
According to last rapport of the CNPT (National Committee of tobacco prevention), the cost of smoking is around 7.840 M € yearly. This cost is mainly produced by:

Lost of productivity: 6.000 M € because the worker has to go out side of his job and he lost time of work.
Labour absenteeism: 260.000 € because people are ill even more because they are less healthy.
Additional cost of cleaning the equipment: 1.580 M € because smoke damages the equiments and they need to clean and maintain them more.

Before having the new smoking law, every worker cost 1.500 € to the companies and now the situation has improved a lot.

Daring text!

Pay attention to these mistakes!
You say:
-feedbacks
-I had some problems with the health
-According last rapport
-This cost is mainly produced for
-the cost of smoking
-people are ill even more because is less healthy.
-clean the equipment: 1.580 M € because smoke damage the equiments and they need to clean and maintain more
-Before to have the new smoking law

You should say:
-feedback
-I had some problems with health
-According TO the last rapport
-This cost is mainly produced BY
-the cost of the smoking
-people are ill even more because they are (or it is, but in this case the subject is not clear) less healthy.
-cleaning the equipment: 1.580 M € because smoke damageS the equiments and they need to clean and maintain them more.
-Before having the new smoking law

Hi positivo,

I agree with your post, cigarettes increase society costs because it is highly allowed due to cultural reasons.
The objective is not to forbid people to smoke, but people smoke in proper places.

Just last week I watched on TV and I read in some newspapers that Madrid´s community was thinking the anti-smoking law was not totally legal and smokers were discriminated from the society. So they were thinking about allow again to smoke into public buildings. Ha!Life’s ironies! And what about people like me who has breathed smoke air during eight hours at work for many years? Wasn´t I discriminated under smokers’ tyrany?
Positivo, I totally agree with you. I really don´t mind about smokers illnesses, in fact, they are looking for that. I’m more worried about illnesses on passive smokers like me.
If you want to watch an interesting film about cigarettes bussiness in USA, just take a look to “Thank you for smoking” by Jason Reitman.

I can stand the smoke. When I smell the smoke I feel sick. I hate when my clothes start to smell like smoke. Then why I have to stand anyone who's smoking in front of me, as it is dangerous for my health?

If you fart, you're bad looked. Then, why it isn't bad looked to smoke on a public area? Because tabaco companies does lot of advertissment.
